“Where words fail, music speaks.”
(Hans Christian Andersen )

Anežka is a Czech professional player on modern and historical flutes. Currently she focuses on the historically informed performance and on exploring how the experience with a period instrument can affect the performance on the modern instrument. This topic became her matter subject during her doctoral studies in Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno which she started in September 2018.

Anežka has participated in projects and concert tours with leading Czech symphony orchestras (e.g., Brno Philharmonic, Czech Virtuosi, Virtuosi Brunnenses, Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, Czech National Symphony Orchestra) and with several foreign ensembles. Recently, she performed with Bach Consort Nijkerk J. S. Bach’s cantata BWV 30 Freue dich, erlöste Schar (September 2022) and J. S. Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion BWV 244 with Concerto d’Amsterdam, Deventer Vocaal Ensemble and Nieuw Vocaal Ensemble. If interested, please check the videos in the section below.

She is a founding member of two ensembles focusing on historically informed performance – ensemble Filigree (renaissance flute consort) which devotes its effort for instance to discovering, performing, and recording works of female renaissance composers and ensemble PAX (voice, traverso, harpsichord) which focuses on the presenting music of Baroque period with connection to the Czech and Slovak background of the musicians.
